Hammocks

Hennessy hammocks have proven themselves around the world and are popular in both military and expedition circles. The This Tribe team have used them from the Arctic to the tropics and been impressed with the design and build quality. There are several different variations of the Hennessy hammock, but all are the same 'Asym' design, allowing you to sleep on your side and include a detachable rain fly for wet weather protection. All hammocks have a built in mosquito net as well to keep the nasties out.

Hennessy Hammocks - concept redesigned

Hammocks are no longer just for the beach and palm trees! We stock the Hennessy range, more technical sleeping system than just a hammock. Very light, quick to deploy these hammocks are a great choice for ultra light camping, adventure racing or as a tent replacement.

There are several versions of the hammock, most differences are in the materials and size so mostly affecting the overall weight. Even the larger ones like the Explorer Deluxe Asym at 1.5kg is still very light compared to a tent and having no poles only takes a very small space in your pack.

The Hennessy system allows you to sleep flat, across the axis of the hammock. All hammocks include a built in mosquito net and either a zipped or velcro closing system so once you are in you are completely sealed in away from insects.

All versions include a detachable rain fly sheet and a pair of 'tree huggers' webbing straps to make fixing the support ropes to trees easier.

The first time you sleep in one you will be amazed how comfortable and warm you stay compared to sleeping in a tent.
